Turning all their work to motivation and inspire the other students through receiving achievement certificates because of their dedication to their work in completing online practicals.
In celebrating the achievements of the top students at Tshwane University of Technology Journalism 2nd year Online Practical class, the lecturer Mrs. Sholain Govender-Bateman and deputy editor Ms Zanele Mbengo hosted a small award ceremony to acknowledge the chosen students for first semester.
According to the lecturer, most students did well but there will be always top achievers who are more creative and have good writing skills. This was one of the greatest ways of bringing students together and working on one goal.

They celebrated the successful outcome as it is necessary to study and work hard further. The lecturer encouraged all students to strive for success on their practicals. She mentioned that to those who didn’t get the opportunity to be one of the top students should not lose hope but must take this as a motivation.
“What I do, I look at what Journalists in the industry do, for example streaming to Times Live and apply what I saw on their work. Then try to do it in my work,” said the top student for online practical group 1, Sylvester Raraza.
He concluded by thanking the deputy editor Ms Zanele Mbengo for giving advices to the class about writing ethics when he was asked how did he benefit good writing skills.
